The technique of Stasis is utilized in the pursuit of invention and arrangement.   It is primarily concerned with circumstance in the understanding of events and development of the status quo.   In arrangement, it produces a succinct recount of conjecture in the narratio.

A Stasis will clarify a thesis, developing it natural from a preceding hypothesis.   The Hypothesis occurs between step three and four below, and step 4 will contain the thesis itself.

In another way of utilizing the Stasis, we would consider a ‘problem statement’ as the recognition of quality in the third part.

We ask:

  1.  Did it happen?
  2. What is the definition of that thing?
  3. What is the quality of that thing?
  4. What of it?
